Introducing Anna Lawson, editor of The PENNANT
Dyas Anna Lawson has more than thirty-four years experience as a writer, graphic designer and editor and has won more than 100 state and national awards for her work in journalism and publishing. In the pen world, she is best known as the editor of Stylophiles magazine, both online and in print. In fact, it was she who virtually designed the print magazine from conception to realization, said Propas. In accepting the position, Anna noted, "With a sense of honor and excitement, I accept the PCA board's offer to serve as editor of The Pennant. I look forward to a productive partnership with the board and the opportunity to provide PCA members with an excellent publication." "Both Ms. Lawson and the Board are most pleased to have her now directing The Pennant and look forward to a long and productive association. We are confident that, building on the fine work of Jim Mamoulides (so ably assisted by Dede and Tom Rehkopf) , Anna, Dede and Tom will take The Pennant to new heights," Propas said. Ms. Lawson’s background includes five years in magazine and 15 years in newspaper publication. Her awards were for design and typography, photography, writing and editing, layout, reporting, editorials, and many specific categories such as feature writing, hard and spot news and a personal column. Recognized by peers and managing editors as an exceptional editor and designer, she has provided those skills to employers and colleagues alike and has several times managed complete makeovers for her publishers. Advertising agencies, marketing firms, and public relations organizations are among her earliest publishing stints, during which she gained the broad-based skills, versatility and creative flair that mark her performance today. Ms. Lawson holds degrees in English and commercial arts. |
